Pins mulch film as well as weed mat
The same wide cap spreads pressure across thin plastic mulch film without puncturing or tearing it, keeping sheets flat and fully sealed against the soil.
Holds shade net and frost fleece too
Works just as well on woven shade net and frost fleece, gripping mesh and lightweight fabric alike so covers stay anchored through wind and watering.
Tip: Choose our 7 inch nails for sandy, loose or windy sites, or our galvanized U-pins for extra hold.

FAQs
How many weed mat nails do I need?
Use the spacing in the how-to-use steps above, a nail every 1-1.5 m along the edges and every 30-50 cm along joins and overlaps, larger rolls need more nails than smaller ones. Pick a pack size with a few spares; all four sizes (100/200/500/1000) are priced the same per piece. Pairing with a roll? See our 0.6 m, 1 m or 1.5 m weed mat rolls.
Are plastic weed mat nails as strong as metal ones?
The barbed shank grips soil and resists wind lift much like a metal pin, without the risk of rusting, staining your fabric or leaving sharp edges to handle. For sandy, loose or very windy sites, our 7 inch nails or galvanized U-pins give extra hold.
Will these nails rust or stain my weed mat?
No, they’re UV-stabilised polypropylene, not metal, so they won’t rust, corrode or leave rust stains on your fabric the way steel pins can over time.
Can I use these for mulch film and shade net, not just weed mat?
Yes. The same wide cap and barbed shank work for mulch film, shade net, frost fleece, drip pipe and tarpaulin, anywhere you need to pin a fabric or film to the ground.
What’s the difference between the 6 inch and 7 inch nails?
Same cap, shank and material, the 7 inch nails are simply longer, giving extra grip in sandy, loose or windy sites. Choose 6 inch for regular garden and farm soil.
How deep should I push the nails in?
Push the nail through the fabric until the cap sits flush against it. That’s usually enough by hand in firm soil; in harder ground, tap it in gently with a mallet.
